morgauseYes, Lobotommy, I will be leaving after finishing my current games. 10/10 2013 21:56:49
lobotommyThat´s not a nice thing to say to someone, morgause, so let´s just agree on that you will be leaving.

I agree on the maths here, it´s slightly more difficult both to get relegated and promoted. It´s part of the reason why we allow several users. No user has any advantage over any other user. But my guess is, playing that many games makes you focus less on each game..

The smoothest solution for this situation is to spread the users on different groups. The judge can do that for you, but needs to be informed early.

morgauseYou´ve convinced me stop playing in WLOH, Wordfeudinman. Theres no way someone with a life can compete with someone like you. 8/10 2013 02:26:13
WordFeudinManThanks, Judge, sometimes I just "go off" and write an essay. Nothing against those who don´t like multiple user names, but maybe they just weren´t aware of the scoring implications. 7/10 2013 03:02:13
The JudgeI am impressed wordfeudinman. You are welcome to swap places? 6/10 2013 16:20:11
WordFeudinManmorgause - it actually gives the other five players, other than my three-usernamed self, an advantage - because I´ve slightly neutralized my "winning power" - because my players were forced to tie twice. (detailed "proof" below.)

But really, I wouldn´t bother with three usernames if I didn´t like the format/structure of WLoH so dang much (don´t bother with the other leagues/tournaments anymore). I like having the "farm system" approach, where there´a a bottom WLoH Division 6 where all new players begin, then if you win, one above that, and above that, all the way up to the elite WLoH Division 1. Think of that Division 1 as the "Major leagues", like baseball.

It´s like we´re in the baseball minor leagues - our chance of making it to the majors (again, WLoH Division 1) are probably just as remote, but you never know, do you?

So the glass is half full, not half-empty.

Many of you can stop reading here, but, because I thought of a more longwinded "proof" of my "reduced winning power" contention of the first paragraph, let me dazzle you with a little "mathematical induction."

Here goes:

Imagine, morgause, I had seven usernames along with you, the only other "person" playing in an eight-player season.

All of those seven same-guy players would start the season (after all the same-guy 0-0 games were tallied), with 6 points total (six draws) and only one game left to get a 2-point win, to then, at best, finish the season with the equivalent of 4 wins and 8 points. (six draws = 6 points = 3 wins.)

That means you, morguaes, could possibly win the season with only 4 wins over all the same-guy players - if your spead tiebreaker was ahead - of the others players with 8 points.

When´s the last time someone won a season with only 4 wins? Doesn´t usually happen. Do you see the advantage for you with all the tied games?

Now, five wins would guarantee a Division victory. Again, when, in other seasons, did five victories guarantee first place?

So let´s reduce the same-guy, different-usernames from seven to six, and here I´m going ask you to trust me (for reasons of saving a whole lot of time and verbiage) that the advantage is slightly less for the two players who are not the six-usernames-guy, but still an advantage.

And then the advantage is slightly less when you reduce the same-guy usernames from six to five, from five to four, and from four to three, which is where we are now. Me with three usernames. The advantage the other players have over me is much reduced, but still an advantage.

Also, it´s not against the rules, and the rules section does warn us that some people don´t like multiple usernames - while I respect your right to be annoyed - we same-guys are punished in a small way with the forced tied games.

Sincerely,

WordFeudingMan/HardScrabble3000/johnnyhands

morgauseJudge, three of the players in this group are the same person. is there any point in playing? 6/10 2013 04:01:17
WordFeudinManWordFeudinMan = johnnyhands = HardScrabble3000, same person. Will score matches between them as 0 to 0, following WLoH Rules section. 6/10 2013 00:35:06
