llucilleThanks everyone for the feedback:) I can well understand the impossibility (from technical, personal, and administrative perspectives) of setting a firm time cut-off for league games to begin. However I take seriously the problems it causes for the whole group when some game invites are not sent or accepted until many days into the season. It´s to be expected with beginning players, but I am always sorry to see it too-often occurrs in the upper divisions where everyone knows the rules and expectations and understands how uncompleted games can affect the rankings for all, and is not just limited to promotion and relegation decisions. I like The Inspector´s suggestion for a change in table judging final scores if there has been evidence from a player that an opponent did not accept invitation(s) or send any during the beginning few days of a season. (It could be for any reason, including real life or a missing character in a username!) Flagging the problem early is more likely to resolve delays in time for the game to complete, or perhaps to elicit a helpful explanation for the slow start. But if the season later ends, with the flagged game still unfinished, the player who posted a problem with getting the game going should be awarded a narrow-margin win during table judging for the higher divisions (as opposed to a tie 0-0, or a 0-150 auto-result) in the absence of further information submitted by players show a different result would be more appropriate, should be awarded the win with a narrow margin perhaps just one point, so as not to unduly distort results for other players. Thanks for a great season everyone and good luck next time. I enjoyed all my games, even my game with The Inspector, who clobbered me, knocked me out cold! WLoH Int Official Hi llucille. You are perfectly correct in that it is the responsibility of both players to initiate the game and one would expect that to happen, especially in the higher divisions where players are completely au fait with the rules. It is never acceptable for a player to refuse a league invitation. When we sign up to the league it is implicit that we have read and will abide by the rules. We have 14 days to play our matches which, in my opinion, is ample time to complete all the games. Obviously, as stated many times, real life must take precedence but it is common courtesy to post a short comment to make your opponents aware. Perhaps if players are being ‘selective’ in their acceptance of invitations they should consider whether a formal league is suitable for them. Whilst I understand players’ frustrations when an invitation is not accepted I’m afraid it is impossible for us to impose a time limit. 13/10 2017 23:05:13
The inspector My opinion is to leave things as they are. If you start stipulating times as to games starting it will prove to be complicated and problematic. However, if at the end of a season the game hasn´t been played, if one player has stated in the forum that invites have been sent and the other player remains silent, then the win should be awarded to the proactive player. Maybe with a minimal spread so as not to affect others unduly. 13/10 2017 22:03:42
BazzwordAs for a general discussion: if one person indicates that she tried to start a game and the other remains passive, then I think that the passive one did not oblige by the rules. It would be good though to include in the rules that both players are responsible to initiate the game within x days. 72 hours may be short but a week is clearly too long. What do others think?

llucilleHi WLoH Int Off´l: This is meant to pose a question for general discussion, not a criticism of anyone! You responded to Magee888 as if she were the one "looking for" Scooter to invite him but had failed for want of noticing the "." at the end of Scooter´s username. It was obvious from the finished games and previous comments at the time that Magee888 had already completed her game with Scooter, that her response was intended only to help out lickle_net who had found himself unable (as posted twice) to get a game going with Scooter. My question is this: Don´t all players have an equal obligation to get each and every one of their assigned League games underway? When is it ever "fair play" for a player to refuse a League invitation, or fail to invite all players in their group from whom they have not yet received an invitation in a timely manner (which I suggest should be 72 hours max).

Scooter (in this instance, but it is commonly seen problem) may never have invited lickle_net. Why is this okay? Okat, I mean, in the spirit of fair play and in the absence of an explanatory post? I have no idea. Perhaps someone can enlighten me. :). Cheers to all.

LoBotThe season is close to its end, and llucille is ahead. But if the last games are not finished, I will set some automatic results at deadline, and as it looks right now, The Inspector may get the victory. The rules say that if you don´t finish the games, you may lose your promotion, the table judge may edit this group and may give the promotion to llucille anyway. LoBotWow, this is really a splendid cluster of smartness! LICKLE_NET is the Yoda of the gang, with 126 seasons in the league. USTE is number 2 on the all time table of division two on this website. MAGEE888 is a fabulous opponent who was number 5 on this level last season. LLUCILLE is a wonderful player who has been number 4 in division 2 in season 124. SCOOTER41W. is the one who most recently won a group on a decent level, the player won division 3 back in season 135. TAXIARCH is in terrific form and was just promoted from division 4. KARLCRANKY is a excellent multitalent and does also demolish opponents in division 2 in Wordfeud US English while playing here. BAZZWORD is number 1 on the list of best all-round players, for all groups in all divisions in all seasons. TINCABOY is the most frequent winner in the pack in the last 25 seasons, with a frequency of 1.63 victories per loss. THE INSPECTOR is the player with the highest average score in a season (only counting the last 25 seasons), with 509 points per match (it happened in season 126 in division 5.)

KARLCRANKY, LLUCILLE and SCOOTER41W. are not only great players, but beautiful individuals who supports WLoH and helps a silly old bot like me stay alive.

The winner gets promoted, the two last players will be relegated. You can´t really tell a favourite here, but lickle_net and karlcranky are two divine players who obviously can win this. They have met 2 times before in the league, and they have won 1 times each, so if you ask nicely, I don´t have a favourite. But if you put a gun to my database, I would say that lickle_net wins this group.
