Woof, sorry, my intent sending a message wasn´t to offend the powers that be.

I did in fact finish two games last round. I won both, but I didn´t report either because I didn´t know that I was supposed to. Scrabblehack had the class to report that he lost to me, while the other person who lost to me apparently stood by without reporting the loss. The other games? Yeah, I didn´t invite anyone else, they didn´t invite me, my mail went to spam. Whatever, I know it´s all my own fault, etc., but I wanted to make sure that there´s at least some mechanism in place to give people notices. I feel like there was a big fat nastygram in this league´s messages about how people are deadbeats if they don´t comply. Not complying doesn´t make someone a deadbeat, it could be as simple as someone not getting the message from your broadcast server. FWIW, my browser doesn´t like this site because it´s not secure and I have to access it via an anonymous server. That could be the problem with the emails as well?

Firstly, you only completed one game last season, which you lost and your opponent quite rightly recorded that score. They had won more games than any other player in the group and so were promoted and quite rightly so.

Secondly, you make a valid point that the email went to your spam folder. This is an issue and we warn our members to check that folder but I’m afraid we’re at the mercy of people’s security settings.

Thirdly, you ask us to warn members to check their settings and ensure that notifications are turned on. With respect I think that is something that is not within our remit. I use an android device and I have never had any problems with notifications.

Finally, you refer to a new member of the group. That player will have received an email from WLoH Post to inform them that they have been assigned a group and explaining in detail how to proceed. This is a relatively new initiative that the site developer has introduced to try and get new sign ups into groups within the first week of the season rather than wait for a new season to start. The aim is to minimise the numbers of new members who sign up and then either forget or lose interest. We do rely on our seasoned members to help the newbies. No system is perfect but we do our best to support all our players.
