lobotommy	I am sorry for the table sorting problems. Over the seasons, we´ve had different rules for tiebreakers, but the current order is 1. points, 2. margin, 3. your own total score in the matches, 4. pre-season ranking. The old system had 3 before 2, and this is still used in the Norwegian quiz league, so the code was never deleted, and it came back to haunt us. We switched to the current system because it is most fair when people finish the games, and people grew good at finishing the games. When people don´t, I agree that the old system is better. I hope the tables are corrected now, for all divisions in season 42 at least. Thanks to the Judge for making me aware of this.	28/05 2024 12:34:28

Ordly Judge	Hi everyone! Sorry for the confusion over the table order changing mid-tournament - as you know, I am just a keen player who volunteers my time to help answer players´ queries and concerns, and to intervene if there are issues with promotions and relegations. However, I have no input or control over the game rules or tech, and the table rearranging itself was as much a surprise to me as it was to you. I am seeking clarity from Eskil, who runs Ordly, about the change. However, I can see that although the table is now organised, first, by points (as before) and then by total score as the first tiebreaker and player rating as the second tiebreaker, the Wlohty awarded and the information stored in the archives are still using spread as the first tiebreaker. Hence, if you go to https://wordfeud.aasmul.net/bruker-4574488, you can see that agriffa is correctly shown as the champion of this season. As soon as I have any clarity on what rules are being used next season I´ll update everyone here. For now, however, it is the tables showing on the group pages that are wrong, with promotions and relegations proceeding as per the established rules.	27/05 2024 10:19:22
Monty022	I think I’m okay with it, and not just because I scored the most points this time. We have had a few no shows over the past seasons and it really gives an unfair spread advantage when it occurs. I think whatever methodology is used, it has to be the same in div 1 as it is in div 5. From what I can see, it’s being used now in all 4 Ordly leagues so that’s at least consistent. What I didn’t think was ideal was introducing it unannounced mid-season. Players should have been advised of the upcoming changes and then have it applied from the following season. We still have no formal explanation of the order of tie- breakers so it would be handy if Eskil updated the Rules tab for Ordly to explain the 1,2,3,4 etc that Lobot applies. Russelljmunn	I´ve got to say I´m not sure I like the new tie breaker for when players are tied on points. I get that in lower divisions people forfeit matches which can affect the spread but at this level total points doesn´t seem like a fair tie breaker. It just favors the player who has had the easier or more common words as their solutions this season.	27/05 2024 08:41:44

Monty022	FYI, Ordly leagues in other languages seem to now be ranked/sorted this way as well. There’s some comment by Lobotommy in Ordly Norsk that seems to refer to tie breakers but google translate doesn’t make it any clearer as to what is/has happened or changed. Ordly Judge	Hi Centrumspits - honestly I have no idea why the tables appear to have rearranged themselves. For some reason, it looks like the tiebreaker when players are tied on the same number of points has switched from spread (and then ranking, as you rightly suggest), to total score. You can make the case that this would be a fairer way of sorting - it would remove the disproportionate effect on spread of opponents forfeiting games, for example, which is an issue in the lower divisions - but any change certainly shouldn´t happen in mid-tournament. I have tried using my "delete cache" tool (which can sometimes correct errors in the table), but it has made no difference here. I cannot manually edit the table, but if necessary I can intervene at the end of the tournament to change who is promoted and relegated - not my desired Monday evening task, but it can be done if required! In the meantime, I´ll alert Eskil, as it is likely that some change in his programming has caused this glitch in the first place, and the easiest thing will be to fix it at source.	24/05 2024 08:03:57
