Nosh?tsherlockHi, it´s true that trecile didn´t respond to my game invitation. But I started a game with abdulla31 on December 12th, and as we were almost finished, I asked him to please finish the game by the deadline. We played a few rounds earlier today, and now I have only 2 more tiles left, and am almost 250 points in the lead. But now he has stopped playing and responding :-( 26/12 2015 09:23:58
WLoH ModeratorHi Nosh?tsherlock....it looks as though 2 players in the group are not participating in the tourney. Unfortunately that occurs at times in the lower divisions. Nosh?tsherlockAt the risk of opening up a whole new can of worms, I´m going to post this question anyway. Was beaten fair and square in a great game by andreals yesterday. Noticed that the results had not yet been posted, but when I try to register them, I get the following notification: ´The match is previously registered. In order to change it, you need to be logged on as one of the two players in the match.´

Obviously I am logged on as one of the players (otherwise I wouldn´t be able to post this either). And I´m still not seeing the results, also not after refreshing the page. What gives?

WLoH Int JudgeNosh?tsherlock, as you seem to of mislaid your magnifying glass here are two excerpts I have copied and pasted from the rules page which I feel may benefit you and put an end to your confusion:

Each of your users should correspond to a user with the same name in Wordfeud, so you don´t have to tell people that they have to invite you on another nick.

Verbal abuse of other players in the forum, or offensive remarks in general, is of course unacceptable and might lead to exclusion. Remember that this is a game meant for entertainment and joy.

Go have fun nosh?tsherlock. Play nicely now :)

WLoH Int JudgeNosh?tsherlock, I would of thought someone with a un such as yours appreciates sarcasm, I didnt realise you had a monopoly on its use. As a proclaimed advocate of ´fun´ you are not doing too well in assisting that really are you? I can assure you no one here has implemented that rule. I´m unaware of any consequences you could have suffered. It is acceptable and probably advisable to remove incorrect uns from the group so the only effect I can see my team or I could of had is to keep you in a season you would of been removed from in past times. In return we receive your bad attitude and name calling. What on earth is your issue, how has the moderator upset you? He is doing the job he is supposed to, he was instructed to delete the results. Would you of rather of been taken out of the group because that can be arranged ;) He was polite and helpful and I think you owe him an apology and a thank you.

What are you failing to understand about rules and the people who donate their time to help apply them and run a league for you to enjoy? It would of been quite simple to follow the help and advice offered in the first place. Your rudeness is totally unnecessary.

Thank you for sorting out the un issue at last, the inconvenience and upset it seems to of caused you is regrettable but necessary I´m afraid. Now all that´s left for you to do is have the fun you claim to seek, welcome to WLoH English International!

Nosh?tsherlockHi tydfil, my comments were directed at the mods and judges, not at you, and I apologize for the mix-up. I´m not sure what your powers are here, but I know that SOMEONE removed all my scores (I´m guessing it was said moderator - or should that read ´sad moderator´? - who threatened to do that if I didn´t step up and obey. I have resubmitted them, and hopefully they will remain published, as I have now been whipped into place and am behaving as ordered. As for the rules - I still cannot find it, but that could be a language thing, as I only seem to be able to access the Dutch pages. Which would also explain why playing it that league for several months with my prohibited un was seemingly never an issue. 16/12 2015 12:36:01
WLoH Supportnosh?tsherlock has changed his username in Wordfeud to nosh?tsherlock (with a question mark), so now it should be ok.

There is a few issues with having a wrong username here. The main thing is that the other players need to be able to find you. OK, you can invite the others, but what happens if you meet others with the same issue? With thousands of players in the league, it´s important that they all can find each other. There is a few other reasons, but we´ll leave it for now.

You may wish to note that I did not remove any scores -which leads us back to the magnifying glass.... :). nosh?tsherlockHi tydfil, thanks for weighing in without any form of sarcasm. :-) Because jeez, who knew that a simple request to be a little bit flexible with the rules, all in the spirit of fun and games (and, lest we forget that´s FUN and games), would elicit so much pent-up passive-aggression? Someone needs to lighten up already, methinks! Or at the very least get a life...

To answer your question: no, I am not the same person who owns the un Noshitsherlock. And of course I understand that there are rules in place for a reason. That said, I was unable to find this specific rule specified anywhere. But whatever. Apparently there are people who live for the chance to assert their authority and implement these rules, or have you suffer the consequences. And guess what? YOU WIN. Did I make your day? Your week??? I certainly hope so. Now kindly reinstate my scores and let the game proceed. Thank you for your time.

tydfilHi NoSh?tSherlock. I am aware that the un noshitsherlock (no emojis, stars nor question marks) has been found on WF since the start of the discussion re your un in the league. Do you own that un on WF? - a simple yes or no will help move this on I think.

I am a player and understand that I am playing in a league that requires rules/boundaries for it to run smoothly and to ensure security. You need to understand the same NoSh?tSherlock - do you own the un noshitsherlock on WF?

This is the English International league and the judge, moderator and intassist are diligent for good reasons.

WLoH Int JudgeNosh?tsherlock, my ´detectives´ have found the ? is in place because of a stars emoji so this will definitely have to be changed in WF if you wish to participate. Also that you have been active in the Netherlands league for a few seasons. I think they will pick up on your un sooner or later. WLoH Int JudgeHi NoSh?tSherlock, the moderator has politely informed you of our rules, it is his responsibility to do so. There are a number of reasons we insist the uns must match exactly. You are a new member, you may think participating for the grand total of 3 days means you have the insight and wisdom to change our rules but we will not be doing that. Players must be able to find you, look at it as a telephone number, you must hand out the exact digits or your friends can´t call you.

You have 2 choices, play according to our rules or don´t participate, the decision is yours. We can offer you assistance in amending your un should you need it. It may actually be easier than you think. What exactly is your username in WF?

nosh?tsherlockDear moderator, yes, my username does indeed contain an emoji. Thusfar, this has not hindered me from playing WLOH, as I already posted I make sure to invite players myself, and this has never caused any problems. Respectfully, I feel we are all adults here and perfectly capable of judging for ourselves whether or not to accept an invite for a game, whether this is from a WLOH contestant, someone whose name appears similar to a WLOH contestant, or a perfect stranger. Of course, when a moderator steps in and specifically instructs other players to ignore aforementioned player, or disregard results of matches played, this is a game changer... FYI changing my username would not be an issue, except that if I did, it would disqualify me from participating in another Wordfeud competition! And I would hate to be forced to choose between the two... :-( So can we please carry on with the fun and games (and especially the fun of this game) as is? WLoH Moderator@ Nosh?tsherlock...the problem is that your username contains characters such as emojis. This means that your opponents cannot invite you to play. We always advise players to only accept invitations from opponents whose usernames are identical to those listed here.

All you need to do is to amend your username. I´ve already posted to you explaining how to do this.

WLoH ModeratorHi NoSh?tSherlock....unfortunately that is not acceptable. Your username here must match exactly that on WF. You amend on WF by going into Settings. Here you amend via sign up page, tab above. Use change username and not register a new one. Likewise ignore alias option.

Your opponents in the league must be able to invite you...at the moment they cannot, which is in breach of the rules.

I will give you 24 hours to amend your username. If you do not do this I will have no alternative but to delete scores already entered.

WJL1908 is the most mature player in this selection, with 72 seasons in this tournament. MAREE054 is the secondmost experienced player in the group, and has played continously since the debut in season 78. ANDREALS is the player here who most recently went undefeated through an entire season, it happened in 8. division in season 90. EMMANUEL 2383 is the most frequent winner in the group in the last 25 seasons, with a frequency of 1.40 victories per loss. STACELC85 is a virtuoso opponent who was number 3 on this level last season. ABDULLA31 is a awesome opponent who was number 6 on this level last season.

The winner gets promoted. If I were to guess, I would say that Emmanuel 2383 wins the season.

ANDREALS is the player here who has won most groups, with a total of 3 victories. EMMANUEL 2383 is the player with the highest average score in a season (only counting the last 20 seasons), with 395 points per match (it happened in season 90 in division 7.) STACELC85 is a superior player who has been number 2 in division 8 in season 89. ABDULLA31 is a supernatural opponent who was number 6 on this level last season.

The winner gets promoted. With this many supercalifragilisticexpialidocious players it is hard to tell you who wins, but I guess Emmanuel 2383 will top the table at the end of the season.
