Fighting for ones rights is a natural thing to do. I surely hope that counting people out can be nullified, so everybody can enjoy playing WF.

You have no valid argument. You ignore the questions posed and facts relating to the case. It is very simple. You are not allowed to accuse others on here. There was absolutely no evidence against your opponent or motive they could of had to back your claim. You had no reason to complain about being denied promotion because you did not ever achieve it.

I stopped bad behaviour/abuse in the form of public accusations (unfounded) and name calling towards another member. If I let it continue I would not be doing my job. You are yet again breaking our rules and publicly accusing that member.

I am happy to answer questions but I will not keep repeating myself. You offer no legitimate reasoning or facts for me to further respond to.

Cboydavies, you are excluded from WLoH.

I decided to take a stepback for fear of inflaming an already volatile situation. I´ve reflected in what has been said, I´ve pondered over the proceedingsthe last season and felt ready to bring my cards to the table.

But get this, words fail me again!

I don´t quite know where to start, so I won´t start anywhere. It´s a kinda " fools rush in where angels fear to tread " scenario.

So I will not go there.

I do have some musings that gave been wandering around my simple mind over the last couple of days. They are questions, not accusations. Plain and simple questions.

Who has been the bully here?

Who has shown dis respectfulness and to whom?

Who is it that has made unsubstantiated accusations?

Who has had the misfortune to have been unfairly and publically criticised?

Who has been irrational and reactionary?

As I said. Just questions. No judgement, no " self piteous anger" as you kindly put it. Just questions...." plain and simple "

Ultimately it is so, so sad. WLoh has lost 2 players who adore this game, love the league and enjoy it for what it is, Good Fun!

Personally I was trying to protect it from invisible and it appears untouchable individuals who seem hell bent on spoiling it for everyone.

But I got NO support....none, with the exception of NoSh?t.

I am sorry to have wasted so much of your time.

I warned you that if you accuse a member again you will no longer be welcome in this league. It is quite obvious which player you are referring to. They have not been found guilty of anything and your continued harassment is a form of bullying. You are permanently excluded from WLoH English International.

The above is standard advice to any player. We cannot see your games, thus we need to receive information from players.

LoBot had posted to this group, and many others, trying to draw players attention to the possible problems which could arise due to incomplete games.

I hope that in the future players will be aware and keep us informed. Some might feel that this is tedious, but it is necessary.

I hope I have given you some points to ponder, and hope that in the future the comments can be less caustic and judgmental, and more constructive (criticism). Practicing random acts of kindness can be seriously rewarding, really. I speak from experience.

I´ve shown respect for group leader (aberlax). He is an excellent player and deserved his promotion.

My intention was to highlight bad sportsmanship and unfair play and not as you suggested, for personal gain.

Don´t feel you have to waste anymore of your time by responding to this. It will be the last you her of me.

Cboydavies, you were in the best position to gather evidence in trying to confirm your suspicion. You do not want to make effort but expect us to. You seem to think you have the right to comment on another players´ attitude without any decent proof and in a way that can only be described as rude. You then object to your own attitude being commented on out of necessity because you are breaking our rules.

You have made a number of assumptions instead of sticking to facts. You complain that a player registered you a win but it was not the automatic 150-0 win you expected so denied your promotion on spread. This would not of been allowed anyway and showed no regard for the group leader. You did not care how unfair that would be on them, you simply wanted to personally gain. You have slung unfair accusations towards the league, cried you were robbed and justified it with unreasonable,self piteous anger.

Your explanations are dubious. You stated ´I had been waiting and requested him to make a move from Tuesday last week. He comes in and plays a 50 pointer at the last minute last night.´ The game would actually of timed out if the last move had been from Tuesday the week before. Even if it was the same week unless the move was played in the last hour of Tuesday the game would of timed out.

You have said ´I went to bed last night 3 hours before the deadline´, but also ´He played and posted the result 10 mins before the deadline.´ How would you know that if you had been asleep for nearly 3 hours?

I gave you a chance to calm down, realise your mistake and move on but you are totally unreasonable, you are just ranting because you didn´t get your own way. You show no regard for the time we are wasting in dealing with you.

You say it´s been a farce. The only farce, cboydavies, is your expectation that you deserve membership in a league of HONOUR. I strongly suggest you consider whether you are suited to such a league. The case is closed, you have had more time than you deserve. We will not waste more on you, continuation of this nonsense will result in your exclusion.

The judges reference to chipping in was probably in follow up to your question about being expected to take screenshots and email evidence through. The league is run by players for players, and most agree that it´s not unreasonable or any hardship to be prepared to supply screenshots in the event of a dispute to help work things out.

Another way to chip in is to help answer new players questions in the forum. A number of players do this and it is very much appreciated by all.

Chipping in definitely doesn´t mean making accusations or name calling though :-)

At this point you haven´t been ostracised; people are still talking to you, trying to help keep you in our community and get to the bottom of things. Your approach however is not helping.

At no point have things been totalitarian. In fact I would go as far as to say we´ve made things more transparent this season.

My final point is that, if you were taking the time to read the input you have been given, you would have seen that we very specifically DID acknowledge your complaint (see my 6-Feb, 21:23 post and 7-Feb, 03:58 reassurance).

At this point I´m losing patience with you mate. Stow it or withdraw from the league. Your choice.

I´ve legitimately chipped in and have been ostracised because of that.

It´s all a bit totalitarian if you ask me. I never asked for your sympathy, I just wanted to know that my objection to another players attitude towards the game was acknowledged.

All I got was a torrent of self defence and self righteousness.

When dealing with this it is indeed my intention to discourage others from voicing accusations publicly. It is unreasonable to not use our system and then complain. In your case the argument you put forward was not fair and you have now acknowledged that. Saying you would of won the group if you had finished that game is speculation.

Us admins help out with the intention of supplying a league intended for everyone´s enjoyment. I also have better things to do on a Friday night but often sacrafice that time in order to ensure the smooth running of the league. If it is too much effort for you to follow the procedures necessary I have no sympathy. This league requires everyone to chip in a little bit now and then and I don´t think that´s too much to ask for a service offered free of charge.

Regarding your final point I am in agreement the end of season could be timed better. I would prefer not to be up to 3am on a Friday night / Saturday morning dealing with issues but it is not up to me so I do not complain and just get on with it.

NoSh?t´s experience is not a singular event is it? I too have voiced concern. He is also very right to suggest that our treatment by the judging panel will only discourage people to highlight potential foul play and bad sportsmanship...Name and Shame them that´s what I say.

It was, in my opinion a playful, maybe slightly flippant take on the situation that we both found ourselves in. It was however based on fact. #MR BLANK screwed the season up.

My game with Nosh?t was a fantastically close one, played in the true spirit of WF, surely that´s what it is all about. We play for fun right? And that leads nicely to my last point.

Id like to think that we all play this game for fun. Do you really expect us to police our own games with screenshots of polite conversations and state of play and the like throughout the entire 2 weeks of a season like some forensic evidence gathering exercise. My experience, similar to NoSh?t´s came to a head in the run up to the deadline which is on a Friday evening. Personally I have better things to do on a Friday night than be vigilant to last minute bad sportsmanship!

Have you considered changing the start/end to mid week...or even a Sunday night?

You can gather evidence by way of taking screenshots of your opponent list to show how long a player is taking. You can also send evidence of polite chat urging someone to finish in time. If you are truly concerned about this player that is what you would of done. Not using a civilised and fair system while publicly voicing your judgement of guilt determined by your single experience with another player is unreasonable.

I am happy to accept your decision and I congratulate aberlax. I was wrong to presume promotion on an automatic result. However, had I been able to complete my game with #Mr Blank ( and I´d given it plenty of time). I would have won the league.

I am with Nosh?tSherlock entirely. I am convinced our friend #Mr Blank deliberately set out to sabotage the outcome of this league. I´m not sure of his motives. Though a brief dive into the players historical archive revealed some interesting observations.

And to answer LoBot´s question: yes, I did invite PhilyC59 at the end of the tournament. When you had posted on 04/02 that there were still incomplete results and that I may go down and PhilyC59 risked being relegated, I realized we hadn´t played each other yet and immediately sent out an invitation. Of course by this point PhilyC59 had lost several other matches and couldn´t risk losing another, so it was obviously to their advantage to ignore my invite. Imo very bad sportsmanship!

If we take the scenario you describe as fact you should not of been promoted anyway. You state:

If I am understanding this correctly that is wrong. You would not of been allowed promotion by means of automatic result applied. Expecting to win a group like that at the expense of a player who completed all their games and who beat you ´fair and square´ would be a ´farce´!

You state that you had waited from Tuesday to Friday night for #MR.BLANK to take his turn, then he posted current score as being final score. You made no comment and there was no way that WLoH Assistant could know.

Personally, he has ruined my chance of promotion. I want to take nothing away from Aberlax who beat me fair and Square in our game. He is an honest and good player.

However I believe that it was me that should have got promoted.

I can justify this on 2 counts.

1. To put things right, I had posted the result between me and Lenrikson. I have had no request to suggest otherwise.

2. My only outstanding game was with #Mr Blank. I had been waiting and requested him to make a move from Tuesday last week. He comes in and plays a 50 pointer at the last minute last night. He then posted the result as 466-356. In reality this game was incomplete. At that moment I had completed more games than him so the result should have stood at 150 -0. Thus my spread should have been 395. This makes me a legitimate winner.

I play this game for fun. I care little if I lose or miss out on promotion by a whisker, that´s part of the joy. In this instance though I feel robbed. Totally robbed.

I can also see that you have registered a result cboydavies - Philyc59 395 - 317. I´m deleting that result, as I assume it was a mistake.

The winner gets promoted, the two last players will be relegated. I feel pretty confident that cboydavies wins the season.
