LoBotMy compliments to naganalf15 on the outstanding effort in Season 78, Div 2, Group 1! Before the season started, naganalf15 was considered an outsider, someone who could win, but maybe not someone you should put the big money on. Nevertheless, it was nice to watch naganalf15 succeed. 14/10 2025 03:02:07
Ordly JudgeWell done on your promotion back to division 1, naganalf15! 13/10 2025 08:33:17
LoBotThese outstanding players have been awarded Wlohty for their performance this season: naganalf15 28, dudkay 21, agriffa 18, Kurt W. 17, HawkonMikkelsen 16, CantersNick 16. The Wlohty is the currency previously known as Glory, that you have silenty collected for a couple of years. For the time being, it is as useful for you as bicycles are for fish, but that may change when we start the Team League. 12/10 2025 23:00:01
agriffaCentrumspits - enjoy your little shimmy around div.3 am sure you´ll soon be back up where you belong 😀 11/10 2025 17:32:18
agriffaI like your idea Liamcorinne of making it 2 days rather than 3 to play each game. It would cutthe wait time for those in divisions with fewer players and just generally speed things up a bit - even for SM! 11/10 2025 17:26:51
Kurt W.Yep, that´s indeed also my Point, thanks Centrumspits! 11/10 2025 13:32:18
CentrumspitsI’ll rephrase the last question to make it easier for you to explain: “Let us assume that a season ends on Monday 13 October. What is the difference between having time off between the 11th and the 13th rather than between the 14th and the 16th?” It’s always going to be a couple of days of between 2 seasons. 11/10 2025 13:17:47
Kurt W.Waiting is already second on the list of activities that consume most of your time on earth, wasted, and used up. Only "sleeping" takes up even more of your time here! Do you perhaps get a kick out of annoying others by making them wait for you and wasting their time, or do you think you´ve found/earned eternal life or something?

Now you´re making the whole group wait again by still not playing against me!!!!! Ordly Judge and other administrators are also waiting for you, but you´re not doing anything about it, are you? You clearly have no respect whatsoever!

11/10 2025 13:13:03
CentrumspitsThere is such a thing as common law, ever since the Romans. It means “a system of unwritten laws based on old customs and on judges’ earlier decisions” according to Cambridge dictionary. I don’t know anyone else who plays like you, SM. Is that actually a coincidence? That an abbreviation of your name is literally the same as the abbreviation for sado-masochism? There are roughly 250 players playing Ordly and you are the only one who is systematically waiting until the deadline to play, making people wait ridiculously long fort heir result. So I believe there is a common concept on what is appropriate. You talk about the “suspense” of having to wait for your result. There is nothing suspenseful about clicking several times a day to find out the result still is not in. It’s actually annoying. But contrary to what you are saying i believe that is what you are setting out for. As for: I hate it that when I have three days left a the end. You do it irreverent of the number of games to play. 11, 12 or even 13. Since we are quid-pro-quoing, tell me this. Why is it nicer to have the “days off” in the beginning o the competition rather than at the end? 11/10 2025 12:58:15
Ordly JudgeIt´s an interesting thought, liamcorinne! The only risk is that it would increase the number of inadvertent forfeits, but that is easily remedied if players get in the habit of just taking a turn daily.

The 72 hours deadline was designed to give the flexibility so that if someone does forget, or have an emergency or no signal for a day or two, they still have chance to catch up. It was never intended or anticipated, however, that any player would think of going in to play their oldest game and not also play the others!

11/10 2025 12:39:56
Kurt W.The start of a season always follows immediately after the end of the previous one, so that´s not so important, right? No matter how you look at it, those days without competition are inevitable, even for the others, so you have to struggle through them sooner or later.

You´ll definitely survive those days, so just forget about it. It´s not an insurmountable problem, and you won´t experience any disadvantages or advantages, side effects like withdrawal symptoms.

However, there are others who (could) only experience unpleasant consequences caused by your "5 minutes to play before the deadline" strategy.

All those who ensure the site keeps running day in and day out and that we can even play Ordly, with Ordly Judge leading the way! So think about that instead of your three days of heartbreaking Ordly loss!

There are always things they have to arrange and problems to solve, season after season, in all divisions and groups! Usually, they can only make lists/complete statistics, etc., at the end of the season, after all the matches in the group have been played. Only then can they make the right decisions, make adjustments, etc., regarding various matters, irregularities, etc., to restore order. You have no idea how many hours a day they spend on this on average! For them, that time between seasons is not just welcome, but essential! The faster they can arrange everything during that time, the greater the chance they´ll actually have a day or half a day off!

The time from a match´s release date, meaning from when it can be played, until the deadline—the same time you wait before playing—is not just your regular supporter making you wait for results, but also, and especially, valuable and potentially free time for those people (administrators, etc.) that you carelessly waste, and then do so right to their faces, and then you even feel the need to make sarcastic remarks.

Show some respect and deference to them, as well as your fellow players and opponents! So, first and foremost, stop waiting to play until just before the deadline, game after game, please! It can always happen that, for whatever reason, you´re just in time to play, but not so consistently and season after season. That´s no longer a coincidence, but bad intentions. No one expects you to play online every day, but they do expect you to play every match that might be available.

This way, you show respect for your opponent and you´ll earn their respect for you!

Besides, just because there are no competition matches doesn´t mean you can´t or shouldn´t play "Ordly" matches. You can play as many practice matches as you like, 24/7 if necessary, until you drop and don´t even want to hear or see the word "Ordly" anymore! Or do you think those practice matches are only for new, beginning players?

11/10 2025 12:38:51
LiamcorinneWould it not be better to cut the game time down to 2 days instead of 3, doesn´t stop the start time for the next season but it might stop the waiting time for the frustration of other players 11/10 2025 12:34:52
weryThis conversation is just: you reaping the rewards of the AGD ... 11/10 2025 11:35:48
weryOh, I didn´t mean to say that your posts here constitute the AGD - rather, your "timing protocol" ... 11/10 2025 11:24:06
sparklingmarmaladeI like the suspense of that message as I clarified previously, but not enough to outweigh my desire to have the daily games up until the end of the season, though when I do play a game near the deadline and I happen to get that message, it´s nice to know that someone else on the other end might be like-minded with regard to my timing protocol ;)

And attention getting, no, honestly I think this whole conversation is interesting but ridiculous. However, now that it´s started, I would like to know if anyone is actually going to answer my question as to why it´s a legitimate imposition for me to play at the end of the 3-day period.

11/10 2025 10:44:27
Ordly JudgeCertainly, Wery, I would be glad if we didn´t keep having to have this discussion every few seasons. I am consulting with the Wordfeud judges and considering next steps. 11/10 2025 10:29:05
weryThe longer I watch this, the more convinced I am that, to use the famous words of Lucy, of the Peanuts, "this is just an attention getting device" by SparklingMarmalade - without them employing that device consciously, of course. 11/10 2025 10:03:51
Ordly JudgeSparklingMarmalade - Frankly it´s nonsensical that you can log in, write a long comment, and *still* not play your outstanding games. And if you like the "Your opponent has not yet played" message so much, why play at the point where it is all but certain that your opponent has already taken their turn? 11/10 2025 07:31:23
sparklingmarmaladeCentrumspits - my reasoning for playing at the tail end of the 3-day period as opposed to immediately playing when each game is released is because in all honesty, I enjoy the matches, so I would find it a bummer to have 3 days at the end of the week with no matches. Instead, I opt for having that 3-day period on the front end, and then I have a new match every day right up until the end of the season.

In no way am I doing it to spite other players - that idea never crossed my mind, and I don´t understand why you are defaulting to inferring malice as the explanation behind the timing of my game plays.

So that is an answer to your question Centrumspits. Now I have a question for you:

Why is it a problem for me to wait and play my game at the end of the 3-day period instead of at the beginning? I do not understand why the late timing of my plays has a detrimental effect on other players in the group. For WordFeud, if I delay my game play, then that forces the opponent to play quickly in response to my moves in order to finish the game before the deadline, and if they´re in a different time zone or if they happen to be busy when I finally make my move a day later then it puts them in a difficult situation. The same is not true for Ordly. The timing of my plays has zero effect on the timing of an opponent´s plays, nor does it have any effect on the final outcome at the end of the season. Whether you know if you´ve won the match on day 1 or day 3 after a game has been released, the final score will still be exactly the same.

When I finish an Ordly match and it says "Your opponent has not yet played," I find it suspenseful and look forward to checking the results the next day or the following day to see what the results of the match will be.

11/10 2025 07:17:24
Kurt W.Hopefully you´ll also be riding next Tour with the div2 peloton Centrumspits. Fingers crossed, I´m already doing it.

Unfortunately, we won´t know for sure until the sweeper/red flag passes.

Pffffff.... It seems like an eternity, so slow! 😁😉

11/10 2025 06:22:26
Kurt W.What a blistering final sprint from you, naganalf15!! You flew right past the others. Especially past Dudkay, because you didn´t even see him coming, and by the time he realized it, you were already way ahead of him.

Congratulations!! Good luck in Division 1 next season!

Thanks naganalf15 and dudkay for the exciting end of the season! It was definitely a close call. I saw you effortlessly cross the finish line first, dudkay! Everything was going swimmingly, you know. What happened along the way that naganalf15 still beat you at the finish? Muscle cramps, acid reflux, mechanical problems...??? Oh well, whatever it is, next season you´ll probably be riding away from everyone else in the peloton with ease!

11/10 2025 06:08:39
Kurt W.Thank you, Centrumspits! I couldn´t have said it better or more clearly myself. My English isn´t nearly as good as yours.

When I post long(er) posts here, I (usually) use Google Translate to fill in the gaps in my English vocabulary, and even then, the results are still disappointing. For example, due to a misinterpretation by Google Translate, the text takes on a completely different meaning. Then I adjust a few words and/or sentence structures here and there and try again as long as my message is clear and cannot be interpreted differently, to minimize any resulting misunderstandings. That´s why I spend a lot of time on it when I´m (forced to) "let off some steam" about such (controversial) matters.

He apparently thinks I´m one of the few Ordly players who get annoyed by this. We know better... The only thing that was unusual about me was that I couldn´t contain myself from expressing my displeasure. His completely disrespectful reaction to Ordly Judge´s urging him to stop waiting for the deadline for every game was the last straw for me. But well, according to him, it´s just harmless banter between him and Judge. Maybe that´s how it started, but I highly doubt it! Ordly Judge really meant it, certainly didn´t find it funny, and he certainly wasn´t laughing about it either, that was pretty clear, right?

Unless your nickname here is SparklingMarmalade, of course!!

Then you laugh all that stuff off, and you laugh at anyone who disagrees with you, and you add fuel to the fire by being sarcastic and biased. But give a decent, logical, acceptable explanation/answer as to why he does this and continues to do it despite everything? No, not at all! Just empty, meaningless, off-the-wall answers like "because it´s possible" and "it´s not in the rules that it´s not allowed"! That´s just like a small child answering "Why?" with "Therefore," and when you then say "Therefore there´s no reason," that annoying teenager adds, "And if you fall down the stairs, you´ll be downstairs quickly," while laughing right in your face.

Now give me a meaningful answer! Why and/or what do you think/want to achieve with it?

Now just like you Centrumspits, I´m really curious what his answer will be but I guess it´s going to Benthe same shit as usual....

11/10 2025 05:35:47
agriffaCongratulations naganalf15 on pipping dudkay in a very close finish...commiserations dudkay 11/10 2025 02:26:39
centrumspitsOk Sparkling Marmelade, first of all you are erroneously assuming that because only a handful of players are reacting to your obnoxious behaviour that the rest of them is ok with it. Maybe they are just not as vocational about it. Or they have better things to do with their time than embarking upon a futile quest to try and enlighten you. “Fight with a pig and you will get dirty too. Besides the pig likes it.” G.B. Shaw.

Now answer me one question honestly. What do you gain from waiting till the dead line to play your word other than spiting your opponents? It is not that you get more thinking time to find your word since you can only start a new word once the other is finished. So you get the same 24 hours everyone else has. If you can give me 1 reasonable reason I will gladly stop this ridiculous argument. And I’ll state in advance that “because I can” or “the rules allow me to” will notbe considered reasonable.

So: why, other than spiting your opponents do you wait till the deadline for playing your word?

10/10 2025 10:45:57
SparklingMarmaladeHey Mr. Kurt, have you ever sat down to dinner with someone and started a conversation before you picked up your fork? Would there be something wrong about that? Can I not post a comment and then play my game later?

Socially acceptable? Is there an honor code when it comes to the timing of playing Ordly matches? When I was in school, if an assignment was handed out on Monday and due on Thursday, I never had a teacher that complained if I turned it in on Wednesday night.

I must say, when I happened to notice your comments last night, I broke out laughing. Declaring with certainty that my response to the Judge´s comments was rude shows your own personal bent. My message could just as easily be interpreted as playful joshing, which was my full intention. It´s a stick that is so far up your ass that you could puke it out of your mouth that is causing you to interpret my actions in such a negative light.

There´s a book titled The Presence Process that is about internal work and self healing, and one of the things the author discusses is projections and reflections. If someone has an overblown response to a situation that other people are also experiencing without having the same reaction, then it´s indicative of an internal conflict within that person, and not something related to the external situation itself. I think you should read that book and introspect on your reaction to this situation under its guidance. I think it´d do you some real good.

Now if you´ll excuse me, I have an Ordly match I need to play before the deadline - tata!

10/10 2025 10:09:51
dudkayKurt W. - nonetheless, i recall you as a very good player and good guy. I had to flip a mnental coin between SHILL and SPILL. Usually, I´m wrong! 8/10 2025 00:59:04
Centrumspits Thanks Kurt, for the moral support. I´ll believe it when I´ll see it. At this rate I guess an 8 of mine woukd be bested by a 9. :-) I agree with you though, that if you can play one word it´s not to difficult to do three. And from there on maintain you´re one word per day. But I guess we´re just feeding the trolls. 7/10 2025 09:40:17

7/10 2025 08:37:22
Kurt W.@Dudkay: Congratulations!! You clearly don´t "SPILL" points, especially not when you´re playing against me. Of the 9 matches we played against each other, I could barely win one (season 26) and only manage one draw, which is embarrassing i guess! Of the 18 points we have divided, you added 15p to your score =>> IMPRESSIVE!!! 7/10 2025 08:12:30
Kurt W.@Wollebak: 👍🏼👍🏼 Well played! Maybe now it´s better to say "Well GAMED"!! 😁😉!? Despite only getting a score of 5, I was secretly hoping for a draw, but thanks to your perfect choice from 11 possibilities, you scored a nice winning 6.

Congratulations!

7/10 2025 00:17:22
Kurt W.P.S. @ Ordly Judge:

Sorry for spouting my unvarnished opinion so freely here, but that´s just how I see it, and the truth must be told, right?

I could have perhaps done it more subtly, but simply doing this without mincing words, not beating around the bush but being straightforward, is a relief.

I completely understand if you found my post a bit off-topic and had to delete it!

6/10 2025 23:47:56
Kurt W.@agriffa: I agree with you 100 % about sparklingmarmalade´s playing strategy. "Mystifying" is actually an understatement; I might even add frustrating or irritating.

And then, if you do go online on the first day of play, ask Ordly Judge a question that´s answered an hour later, go online again that same evening and respond, and then on the third day of play you still haven´t played a single match!? I find that strange... but okay, maybe it can be explained logically and plausibly up to that point, but that´s where it ends. Personally, I find the rest of it far from socially acceptable...

When Ordly Judge asks him if he plans to play again and reiterates his opinion on the matter, sparklingmarmalade´s reaction isn´t exactly friendly; "rude" is a huge understatement!

I find his reaction sarcastic and extremely arrogant! He has absolutely no empathy, nor does he show any respect for anyone or anything, not even Ordly Judge.

That´s my personal opinion, anyway. I don´t expect anyone to agree with me. I just wanted to get this out here because I´m incredibly annoyed by this kind of behavior, and now I´m frustrated by Sparkling Marmalade´s

6/10 2025 23:46:07
Kurt W.The curse of Lobot strikes again and it really hits you exceptionally hard, Centrumspits. 6/10 2025 21:51:51
dudkayLiamcorinne - an 8 for USING! Jaw-droppingly awesome! Congrats! Good thing I took a screenshot of the standings before playing you! 6/10 2025 15:55:26
agriffaCentrumspits you are having a tough run. Same happened to me when I came down from div1. I went straight down to div3. Was quite nice to play a whole lot of new players. Hope your luck turns soo 6/10 2025 11:25:56
agriffaYour strategy is mystifying Sparkling Marmalade. It leaves everyone unsure of where they stand, particularly yourself!! At least it all eventually sorts itself out 6/10 2025 11:22:59
CentrumspitsNow this is just plainly ridiculous. 6/10 2025 11:19:03
LiamcorinneAt least you’ll have an extra day with a 100 % record dudkay 😂 3/10 2025 21:41:12
dudkayOh, dear. next opponent is SM. No rush then, i reckon. 3/10 2025 15:53:12
Ordly JudgeI have made clear several times before my view about logging in at last minute to play the first expiring game while leaving others unplayed. I was happy that you seemed to have changed your style of play lately, but clearly I spoke too soon! 3/10 2025 06:58:42
sparklingmarmaladeI know how much you love my last minute before the deadline plays judge 😉 2/10 2025 21:46:30
Ordly JudgeHaving posted your comments, are you also going to play at some point, SparklingMarmalade? 2/10 2025 19:13:13
Kurt W.Then your sight is apparently not as sparkling clear as your marmalade. Lol 😁😉 1/10 2025 10:59:19
sparklingmarmaladeLol, I saw group 1. OK, thanks. 30/09 2025 21:39:12
Ordly Judge This is division 2! 30/09 2025 06:13:04
sparklingmarmaladeHey Judge, how did I end up in Div 1 this season? 30/09 2025 05:09:11
LoBotLook at these players! This is a supernatural horde of quality players! CENTRUMSPITS is the one who most recently won a group on a decent level, the player won division 1 back in season 76. AGRIFFA is the player here who most recently went undefeated through an entire season, it happened in 3. division in season 76. CANTERSNICK is the player here who has won most groups, with a total of 12 victories. WOLLEBAK is number 6 on the bilingual ranking in WLoH. KURT W. is number 2 on the all time table of division three. THYMALLUS is number 8 on the all time table of division three. SPARKLINGMARMALADE holds 26 Ordly records, for instance XENIA, PERES, AYAHS, BUSKY, YARRS, GLARE, AEONS and TIYIN. LIAMCORINNE is number 2 on the all time table of division two. DUDKAY holds 23 Ordly records, for instance INLET, NEXUS, OUPAS, TACIT, OOMPH, VILLI, SCALE and LAPSE. NAGANALF15 is the most frequent winner in the selection, with a frequency of 1.47 victories per loss. WEB-OF-WORDS holds 11 Ordly records, for instance WOVEN, YOUTH, GRODY, TRACK, MOUTH, LIMEY and NEEDY. HAWKONMIKKELSEN owns the Ordly records for the words SOMAS and SCRIP.

CENTRUMSPITS, CANTERSNICK, AGRIFFA, KURT W., DUDKAY and THYMALLUS are tresourous people of a kind you would not believe existed, people who out of their pure generousity donate to WLoH and keep the site running.

The winner gets promoted, the two last players will be relegated. With this many terrific players it is hard to tell you who wins, but I guess Centrumspits will top the table at the end of the season.
