As I have stated many times before, the 72-hour playing limit was introduced when Ordly was first created to give genuine players time to catch up if, for example, they forget to play one day or are out of signal. It was never expected or intended that any reasonable player would see the deadline as the target time to take their move - and certainly not to then leave remaining games unplayed until they too nearly expire. However, SparklingMarmalade - along with one or two others - has consistently played in this manner, much to the frustration of opponents. When groups reach a certain number of players, late play also prevents me, as Judge, making any necessary intervention around promotion or relegation prior to deadline. The rules were updated last year to flag deliberate late play as poor behaviour, but SparklingMarmalade has refused to adapt their playing style. The rules are therefore in the process of being updated again to make it explicitly against the rules to deliberately and persistently wait until deadline to take your turn.

In the case of SparklingMarmalade, I have given them ample opportunity to change their ways and be more respectful of their opponents, highlighting the issue politely but firmly on several occasions. I first flagged their unsporting playing style in a comment in Season 55, almost a year ago ("I don´t understand the logic of turning up for each game at the last possible moment, and leaving other remaining games unplayed. It doesn´t seem very sporting to keep opponents waiting unnecessarily!"). Subsequently, I have raised it again in seasons 66, 67, 71 (when I noted "it may endanger your promotion chances if you do not take on board my feedback") and 78, with complaints from various other players as well in these and other seasons. SparklingMarmalade´s sarcastic and, quite honestly, selfish responses make clear that they have no intention of changing their ways, and believe their actions are entirely acceptable. Frankly, I am fed up of having to invest so much of my time in dealing with one disruptive player, especially when all the attention merely seems only to feed and embolden the troll.

I hope that explains what has happened. As a keen Ordly player myself, I am proud and happy to volunteer my time as Judge, especially when most players are delightful to engage with, and respectful of their colleagues here. I do not like having to exclude a player, but I will not let one bad egg spoil the game for everyone else.

After you played, it must have been the longest 15 hours of your life, horrible isn´t it? I´m glad to see you survived it all! See now you can do it too!

Actually, I did notice that your deputy Centrumspits was also not in this group, but I didn´t have the time last night to address you, him, and all of the other comments on this thread in detail. I was too busy submitting my Ordly plays a whopping 15 hours before the deadline.

I like to interfere with the comments here just because I can and I´m allowed to. There´s no rulebook prohibiting meddling in the chats of groups and divisions other than my own, so I´ll just do it anyway! By the way, I´m not the only one here, because Centrumspits was here too!

We´ve been in the same group seven times already. I don´t remember if the "virus" was already around in seasons 22 and 23; that was too long ago. But he was definitely infected by our third and fourth encounters in seasons 48 and 49.

I noticed that he was playing like that there, but I didn´t mention it in the chat at the time. In the season 51, division 3, group 4 chat, things started to get heated: Ordly Judge urged FLYN to play a bit faster, and a little later, I voiced my criticism/displeasure for the first time. In season 52, there was also a discussion with Flyn in division 4, group 5.

Unfortunately, he still hadn´t recovered during our subsequent encounters in seasons 59 and 79.

Moreover, you show absolutely no, or at least not much, respect for the other players, because despite the numerous criticisms and recurring discussions about it, you stubbornly persist. With that stubbornness and unwillingness to change your playing style even slightly, you´re increasingly antagonizing more and more people.

I simply can´t wrap my head around the notion that Ordly isn´t "fun" because one player waits longer to take their turn. And Centrumspits, the fact that you´re monitoring the website to check and see when I finished my game - don´t you have anything better to do with your life? I mean really, it´s ridiculous.

Stop creating unnecessary drama about something that isn´t causing a problem. It´s my prerogative to submit my guesses when I choose to within the 3-day period.

EKATOZ , NOVI SLOVENEC, THYMALLUS, MINIMINISTONER and COCANUCK is among these few heartwarm samaritans who sacrifice some of their own money, earned through suffering and pain, to pay for the fun for all of us.

The winner gets promoted, the two last players will be relegated. We have so many skilful players here that it is difficult to pick a winner, but my guess is that naganalf15 will top the table at the end of the season.
