LoBot	And it is finally decided, katvonvue has won Season 98, Div 7, Group 44! Many had expected Nelly 1 to win this group, but personally, I have always had faith in katvonvue. It is the 2. time that katvonvue wins a group at this level.	5/03 2016 00:47:43
LoBot	The season is close to its end, and Nelly 1 is ahead. But if the last games are not finished, I will set some automatic results at deadline, and as it looks right now, katvonvue may get the victory. The rules say that if you don´t finish the games, you may lose your promotion, the table judge may edit this group and may give the promotion to Nelly 1 anyway. If you are katvonvue and care about the promotion, I recommend either finish all games, or, if impossible, report current score in this comment field before deadline.	4/03 2016 02:40:32
WLoH Int Assist	Hi katvonvue, there can be lots of reasons why people occasionally take a while to make a move. Current advice is to drop them a polite WF chat message around this point of the season asking if all is well and whether you will be able to complete the game by the deadline. If you get no response then take a couple of screenshots of your game list showing the time they´ve taken, plus the WF chat so that you´re in a position the day before end of season to prove slow play / email the judge if it will affect promotion or relegation.	2/03 2016 05:30:43

WLoH Int Judge	Hi Wolfgang-Rigler, this may be a case of Brikke Majoren the tile god up to his tricks. If you hang in there he is sure to reward you. Eventually ;) Seriously, I would estimate the % of luck to skill ratio as closer to the other way round from that you quoted but know it doesn´t feel like that sometimes. steve^w	Hi Wolfgang, commiserations. I won´t repeat montys advice which was excellent. But, in case it helps, I find that my luck with tiles goes in definite cycles. So you could try giving it a go for a wee while longer. Also it´s probably fairer to your group to play all of your games this season if you possibly can? By the way the league is separate from WF itself so has no influence over their algorithms. One thing you can try though is an app called Wordfeud Secretary; it tells you what tiles are left so at least you can see your bad luck coming in some cases ;-) best of luck whatever you decide	25/02 2016 11:05:38
Wolfgang-Rigler	I was in a close game with alsy01, really close, then I put down DOM for 27 points, really pleased with myself. There´s only 5 letters left in the bag, I pull out 3.... and they are NNN. So it leaves me NNNNTRI. Seriously, what are the chances of that? I can´t take this anymore. It´s just not fun. I´ve tried, I really have, but your tiles algorithm just hates me! Time and time again. People are even apologising to me for their luck. I believe the guy who says it´s not just about the big point tiles, but no one at this level would lose if they get more than two of the four, they´d have to be a clown. Just ask Purmergreen, who I was having a great game with until I started getting all 1 pointers while he got X and J and ran away with it. Scrabble is 25 % skill, 75 % luck. For those games, I haven´t finished, please put yourself down for a win even if you are not... the whole thing is a complete lottery of luck anyway!	25/02 2016 10:21:40

Monty022	Wolfgang-Rigler, matches aren´t decided alone by who gets the 4 high scoring tiles (and there´s no known way to influence the randomness of who gets them). There are 2 sides to every coin. The high value tiles have good scoring potential but are not very bingo friendly. The 1 point tiles are much more bingo friendly so high scores can still be made, but if you don´t have a bingo, then scoring well can be difficult. There are many other factors that go towards determining how well you score and ultimately who wins the game including the board texture (how open or closed it is), the position of vowels next to premium squares, rack leave, and naturally each players word knowledge. Resigning is always an option, but it´s 100 % guaranteed loss. Also, if you read the rules tab, the scoring for resignations permits the opponent to reduce your score by a further 50 points so a 200 point deficit should end up 250. Fighting on to the end of the game gives you opportunity to try to reduce the final spread. That´s what tournaments are all about, winning by the maximum spread or not winning by the minimum spread. So win or lose, there is always something to fight for in WLoH games which is something I personally enjoy. Finally, when you break it down to its most basic elements, wordfeud/scrabble is 14-15 word puzzles plus an endgame scenario where your job each time is to work out the optimal play, be that bingo, high scoring, sorting your rack for next time, playing defensive, swapping tiles, etc. I wish you better luck in future matches though, cheers.	22/02 2016 04:35:58

Wolfgang-Rigler	Guys, is there a way that the tiles can be more evenly distributed? I have just played the most pointless game ever against Nelly 1. He / she is obviously a good player, they don´t need to get all 4 high scoring letters too! All I had was one pointers despite swapping 12 tiles. The whole game was a total waste of time as a contest :o( I had a feeling almost straight away it was going to be one sided on the luck front. If I get this situation again I´m just going to resign and the lucky winner can put in any score they want. It´s only fun losing when there is actually a contest!	22/02 2016 03:20:22
LoBot	Yes! I love it when we gather such a brilliant group! ALSY01 is the Yoda of the party, with 134 games in this tournament. NELLY 1 is the player with the highest average score in a season (only counting the last 5 seasons), with 417 points per match (it happened in season 96 in division 7.) PICASSOCAT is in great form and was just promoted from division 8. WWEST is a intelligent opponent who was number 2 on this level last season. EST156LFC is a brilliant multitalent and does also demolish opponents in division 7 in Wordfeud US English while playing here. KATVONVUE is a magnificent player who has been number 2 in division 6 in season 92. PURMERGREEN59 is the player here who most recently went undefeated through an entire season, it happened in 8. division in season 96. WOLFGANG-RIGLER is the most frequent winner in the party in the last 5 seasons, with a frequency of 3.33 victories per loss. PURMERGREEN59 has clicked the donation button and supports the fun for all of you. The winner gets promoted, the two last players will be relegated.
