There´s a player in my "al bundy85" who is in his 3rd season and was just promoted from div 10 to div 9. Strangely this player hasn´t played a single match.
So my question is: Can the algoritm detect unresponsive players and put their status on inactive?
Certainly there must be a way to keep them from promoting in the first place...

Hei Søren your issue is in the Danish League. As you point out you were not in the bottom 2. If you post in the Danish league rather than English International the Danish judge may be able to explain what happened. Tak:)

Lynda Le Bernard, there is no difference in groups at each divisional level. Promotion and relegation is only between divisions. You simply get assigned to a group in your division based on your WLoH ranking.
By way of example, division 5 group 1 is no higher or lower than division 5 group 2 or division 5 group 16 or any group in division 5. So being in division 5 group 1 last season and division 5 group 6 in the following season is not a relegation. Winning your division 5 group and moving to division 4 next season is a promotion, finishing on the bottom of your division 5 group and playing in division 6 the following season is a relegation.
It´s explained in the rules tab above how players are assigned to groups. Lobot ranks all players in a division from 1 to n. Using division 5 as an example, there are 16 groups of 8 players so a pool of 128 players to allocate. Lobot ranks players from 1 to 128. Player ranked 1 goes to group 1, player 2 to group 2, player 3 to group 3 etc and player ranked 16 to group 16, he then reverses the order so player ranked 17th is also assigned to group 16, player ranked 18th to group 15 etc and player ranked 32 is assigned to group 1 and the process reverses again until all 128 players are assigned.
Under this process, you could argue group 1 is the strongest because it has the highest ranked player, or is it the weakest because it has the player ranked 128 also. The reality is each group is roughly as tough as each other so group 1 or group 16 or any group inbetween is just as tough as the next group.

Hi - promotion is about divs not groups. The Rules page (accessed via a tab at the top of page) explains how players are placed in groups.

I can see that there is a translation-problem there. I´ve asked the admin to take a look at it, but I don´t know when he can find the time.
If yo go to the Sign up-page, and it says in Norwegian: "Hvis du rykker ned, kommer LoBot til å hetse deg. Du kan endre dette og be han være stille.", you will be humiliated.
If it says "Hvis du rykker ned, kommer ikke LoBot til å kommentere det. Du kan endre dette og få med deg litt velment mobbing på veien ned.", you will not get humiliated. ;)

I tried changing my humiliation level, but though I see a Change Level button, I don´t see any other input field that provides my options (maybe ´cuz I´m using Chrome [?]) Anyway I hit the button a couple of times but I can´t tell if anything changed. =/

It´s supposed to be hilarious. And you don´t get that kind of notification unless you choose it yourself. You can activate it on the Sign up-page (look at the "Humiliation level"-function). ;)

Welcome Mr Jubala, and good luck in the league. If you have a look at the rules page, about 3/4 down there is a "Quirky Details " section and it explains the groups there. No group is any more special than the next. The group you are assigned is based on your player ranking, which is a weird and wonderful formula also explained in the "Quirky Details" section. I won´t explain any further as I´ll just be rehashing what you will read in the rules page and you´ll get the gist of it quickly enough anyway. Good Ol´ Lobot works it all out at the end of the season so it´s nothing you need to sweat. All you need worry about is playing the opponents in you group by the season deadline and everything else, promotion, relegation, etc is all sorted for you. Cheers.

I´m a bit of a newby and still trying to work out pecking orders on this site. I understand the leagues are sorted so that Division 1 tends to be the higher scoring players and division 2, next highest scoring etc. Are the groups similarly sorted? Eg is division 3 group 1 ´better´ than division 3 group 2, or are the groups just made up of random ability people within the divsion, there to ensure people in that division do not have to play more than (say) 9 games in a round? If the groups do mean something, do people get promoted/relegated between groups or do promotions/relegations just affect divisions? Just curious... thanks.

I challenged Bathsheba bella on 9/20 in ENGLISH instead of INTERNATIONAL MODE and we played a few turns until I noticed we were playing the wrong mode. They acknowledged that I was sending a new invite in the correct playing mode. But haven´t heard from them in 4 days.
