@ Jesse: the safe & easy thing to do now, which won´t lock you out anywhere and keep your stats everywhere:
in the WF app, change your nickname to Jesse?? as well (no blank!). That is done in the settings of the app.
Later (like, weeks or months later), when you´re confident enough to find which nicknames haven´t been taken on both sides (league and app), you may want to change your nickname for good; but beware: it matters where you start ...

Hi, I´m an admin in WE Deutsch (=German), and maybe could shed some light on 2(!) problems
a) using admin tools, I found out that those ?? stand for the "Woozy Face Emoji".
It happens frequently that players do not realize that an emoji is a character, but one that the league server simply cannot process (other then the server of the WF app).
b) I´ve seen many players that miss some important info when signing up. That is probably the case with "mitcheyo" - I´m quite positive they haven´t realized that LEAGUE games have to be played in the WF APP. After all, when you sign up for a new game, you usually get presented a dedicated game interface when logging in ...
How you can help:
try to engage them both in a chat, and tell them it´s a game counting for this league (copy link):
